Lägesrapport från Babylon

J och jag satt och smurfade YT-klipp och kom att kolla på den här studentmottagningssketchen med Grotesco – fullständigt briljant – det är exakt så äckligt på de flesta studentmottagningsfester som det är i klippet.

Efter att jag sett klippet så fick jag en flashback till dagen då jag tog studenten. Skulle egentligen gått på en stor fest för alla studenter men jag sålde biljetten till evenemanget till en klasskamrat. Dagen slutade istället med att jag och O satt i mitt rum, drack Sort guld och diskuterade Nietzsche.

Egentligen så tycker jag att man inte skall driva med folks religion (undantaget är den mormonska tron och scientologin som så uppenbart är fantasifoster från början till slut) men jag kunde inte låt bli att le när jag hittade följande översatta stycke ur Rg veda på http://en.allexperts.com/q/Hindus-946/Philosophy-Culture-Study.htm

”That out of which creation has arisen,

He who surveys it in the highest heaven,
He surely knows–or may be He does not!”

Gud kanske vet – känns tryggt att veta.

Det är inte kul att läsa om hur kristendomen sprids i Nord- och Sydamerika. Det finns en del saker som kanske kan nyansera bilden av Katolska kyrkans insatser där, men på det hela taget är det dyster läsning.

Hittade dock följande citat av dominikanerprästen Antonio de Montesinos där denne kritiserar Katolska kyrkans verksamhet i Sydamerika: 

“You are all in mortal sin, and live and die in it, because of the cruelty and tyranny you practice among these innocent peoples. Tell me, by what right or justice do you hold these Indians in such a cruel and horrible servitude? On what authority have you waged such detestable wars against these peoples, who dwelt quietly and peacefully on their own land? Wars in which you have destroyed such infinite numbers of them by homicides and slaughters never before heard of? Why do you keep them so oppressed and exhausted, without giving them enough to eat or curing them of the sicknesses they incur from the excessive labor you give them, and they die, or rather, you kill them, in order to extract and acquire gold every day?… Are these not men? Do they not have rational souls? Are you not bound to love them as you love yourselves? Don’t you understand this? Don’t you feel this? Why are you sleeping in such a profound lethargic slumber? […] Know for certainty that in the state in which you are you can no more be saved than than Moors or Turks who have not, nor wish to have, the faith in Jesus Christ.”

Kul att läsa att det faktiskt fanns några som motarbetade den brutalitet som skedde. 

Bra människor introducerade nedanstående klipp ifrån Grotesco för mig. Sjukt roligt och burleskt.
